COURSE OVERVIEW
You will develop a deep strategic understanding of the different functions within organisations. You will also learn how to apply the best of international management practices and how to implement approaches that deliver outstanding results.
In addition to the core elements completed by all our MBA students, you will undertake the specialist module ‘Management, Accounting and Control’. There is also the flexibility to choose a finance-related dissertation topic that reflects your personal interests and aspirations.
Our course focuses on problem-solving abilities and linking theories to real-world challenges. As part of this, we encourage visits to local companies as well as organising guest lecturers who share their practical business experiences. We understand that your MBA is part of an onward journey. We offer extensive career support to help you gain a rapid return on your investment in yourself.
As well as this MBA which focuses on finance, we also offer other related courses. These include a broader MBA, along with MBAs which centre on Human Resource Management, Supply Chain Management and Marketing.

COURSE STRUCTURE
The course mixes taught elements with self-directed research. You can negotiate the topic of the dissertation to reflect your personal interests and career aspirations.
We use a wide variety of teaching and learning methods which include lectures, seminars, class discussions, case studies, group work, presentations and applied study.

Entry requirements
his course is designed to support career acceleration for suitably academically qualified applicants. All levels of practical work and work experience will be considered including applications from candidates with pre-graduation, limited or no work experience after completing their degree, who can display that they will benefit from a programme of this type.
All applications are subject to University approval.

Accreditation of prior learning (APL)
If you feel you already know some of the topics covered in this course, either due to previous learning or from experience of work, then you may not need to study all of the course.
Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) is the name given to the process of gaining credit towards a qualification because of something you have learnt in the past. If you are eligible for APL you won't have to learn the same topic again, and so you can be exempt from a module, set of modules or year of a course.
Fees and finance
The annual fee is:
- £11,500 if you are from the UK or EU. If you are a University of Sunderland graduate you will receive a £1,500 alumni discount on your tuition fee.
- £14,000 if you are an international student; all international students applying in 2020 are eligible for a £1,500 scholarship. This means that the total tuition fee you will pay is £12,500 each year.
Additional tuition fee discount for international students: All courses require you to pay 50% of the total tuition fee as a deposit. However, if you pay 100% of your tuition fee prior to CAS issuance, you will receive an extra £1,000 discount on your tuition fee. This would reduce the total annual cost of this course to £11,500.
If you do not wish to pay all of your tuition fees at once, you can choose to pay the remaining 50% up to three months after the start date. If you choose to pay in this way, you will not receive any extra discount, and the total annual cost of this course will be £12,500.
If you are a University of Sunderland graduate you will receive a £1,000 alumni discount on your tuition fee.

Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Accreditation
University of Sunderland in London MBAs are accredited by the CMI, a highly respected professional institution for management. Students who achieve their MBA are awarded the CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership in recognition of knowledge enhancement and understanding of the practice of management.
Graduating from a CMI-accredited course has been proven to boost employability by as much as 10%. According to the 2016/17 Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey, 58% of graduates from CMI-accredited courses were in graduate-level employment, further study or training within six months of graduating, compared with 48% from non-accredited business courses (based on UK students).
