COURSE STRUCTURE
The course mixes taught elements with self-directed research. You can negotiate the topic of the dissertation to reflect your personal interests and career aspirations.

We use a wide variety of teaching and learning methods which include lectures, seminars, class discussions, case studies, group work, presentations and applied study. Assessment is mainly through the dissertation and assignments, as well as exams in some subjects.

Entry requirements
This course is designed to support career acceleration for suitably academically qualified applicants. In addition to a relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification, all levels of practical work and work experience will be considered. This includes applications from pre-graduation candidates and those with limited or no work experience post-degree who can show they will benefit from a programme of this type.

We also require three passes at GCSE grade C or above, which must include Mathematics and English Language, or an equivalent qualification. For example, this can include a minimum of Level 2 Key Skills in Communication and Application of Number. If you have studied for a new GCSE for which you will be awarded a numerical grade then you will need to achieve a grade 4 or above.

Fees and finance
The annual fee is:
  • £11,500 if you are from the UK or EU; if you are a University of Sunderland graduate, you will receive a £1,500 alumni discount on your tuition fee.
  • £14,000 if you are an international student; all international students applying in 2020 are eligible for a £1,500 scholarship
Additional tuition fee discount for international students: All courses require you to pay 50% of the total tuition fee as a deposit. However, if you pay 100% of your tuition fee prior to CAS issuance, you will receive an extra £1,000 discount on your tuition fee. This would reduce the total annual cost of this course to £11,500.

If you do not wish to pay all of your tuition fees at once, you can choose to pay the remaining 50% up to three months after the start date. If you choose to pay in this way, you will not receive any extra discount, and the total annual cost of this course will be £12,500.

If you are a University of Sunderland graduate, you will receive a £1,500 alumni discount on your tuition fee.

All University of Sunderland in London MBAs are accredited by the CMI, an accredited professional institution for management. Students achieving the MBA are awarded the CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership in recognition of knowledge enhancement and understanding of the practice of management. 

Graduating from a CMI-accredited course has been proven to boost employability by as much as 10%. According to the 2016/17 Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey, 58% of graduates from CMI-accredited courses were in graduate-level employment, further study or training within six months of graduating, compared with 48% from non-accredited business courses (based on UK students).
