Overview
The HNC/HND in Business aims to develop an understanding of business and management theories and enable students to evaluate the complex and integrated nature of the business world as well as facilitating the development of key transferable skills to enhance opportunities for employment and career progression. To encourage participants to take increasing responsibility for managing their own learning and development, both as an individual and as a member of a learning community
Subject specific aims and learning outcomes for each Business and Management module, which identify the attainment level expected from candidates, are contained in the individual module specifications.
WHO IS THIS PROGRAMME FOR?
Individuals who apply for this course will obtain an internationally recognised qualification that prepares them for management roles in industry. The course provides insight and understanding into international business operations and the opportunities and challenges presented by a globalised market place, knowledge and understanding of culturally diverse organisations, cross-cultural issues, diversity and values.
WHY TAKE THIS COURSE?
This course enables individuals to obtain business knowledge with special reference to management whilst developing and enhancing their existing skills in a wide range of key areas in business. It provides the students with opportunities to enter or progress in employment in business, or progress to higher education qualifications such as an Honours degree in business or a related area.
WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE?
Learners will experience a holistic development of practical, interpersonal and higher level thinking skills. The focus is on developing learners for employment and higher education in an ethical manner. With clearly defined routes of progression each student will be taught a rigorous curriculum in association with local and national industry partners. Successful students will progress to a BA (Hons) Business degree in the form of a top-up course.

PROGRESSION
You can progress to the final year of a degree programme, start your career straight away or progress further to a BA in Business and to LCCA's BA in Fashion Business and Marketing.
**Progression to Higher National Diploma (HND) is subject to sufficient interest and student experience.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Higher National Certificates (1 Year)- Minimum age: 18
- Four or five GCSEs (grades A*-C, (4) or above) or Level 2 qualification equivalent
- Typically two A-levels (D or above), BTEC National Diploma or any NARIC recognised equivalence - every application is considered on an individual basis
- English proficiency: IELTS 5.5 (with minimum 5.0 for each component) or equivalent (CEFR Level B2)
- Mature applicants: (over 21) are considered subject to satisfactory literacy and numeracy, work experience (if applicable). All applicants will be required to attend an interview and complete a creativity task

Higher National Diplomas (1 Year)
- Minimum age: 18
